Embedded Naval Trainers
Installed in a Ship's CIC, ISIH’s Embedded Naval Trainer (ENT) provides simulated battle and tactical data in a synchronized scenario for all operator consoles in the CIC. The CIC operators see the world as defined by the ISIH Embedded Trainer scenario when active use of radiating sensors is impractical or restricted. The ENT has the following benefits:
- In-port time is not lost for operational Combat Information Center (CIC) training
- Transit time to a new operational area can be used for real-life situational CIC preparation for the new environment
- CIC operators are able to receive daily training on complicated and highly stressful operational situations
The Trainer provides simulated battle and tactical data for the following stations:
- Radars (both Navigation and Search Radars). The feed from the ENT simulation computer can either be in a digital format or in raw analog radar (PPI) video depending upon which format best serves the customer's needs
- Data Links (All NATO standard Data Links, as well as Customer unique links as required)
- Weapons Systems (Missile and Gun)
- Navigation System
- Command and Control System
Scenario Generation
The ENT Scenario Generation capability permits definition of realistic scenarios that are virtually indistinguishable from real life for the CIC Console Operators. The following are Instructor Definable: Map and Scenario area, Platforms with defined 360 degree radar cross-sections, RF emitters, Weapons, Maneuver Plans, Weather, Data Link participants, etc. On line changes may be inserted at any time during the running of an exercise scenario.
DIS Interface
The ENT can include an interface to the Distributed Interactive Simulation (DIS) Networks link for combined training with other DIS capable training environments.
Troubleshooting
In addition to the Training capabilities offered, the ENT can also be used for Troubleshooting connected combat systems.
Trainers In Use
ISIH's Embedded Naval Trainers have been installed and are in use on-board Naval ships since September 2000.
